McMichael Yards Temporarly Closed

McMichael Yards Temporarly Closed

Dear Friends,

First and foremost, we hope that your families are healthy and making the most of family moments during these unprecedented times. McMichael is very fortunate that, at the time of this writing, all our yard workers and brokers are healthy, and none have contracted the virus.

I’m reaching out to our valued McMichael customers to update you on the status of preparations to commission your boats for the spring.

Our yard staff had been working diligently to make as much progress as possible, however, additional Covid-19 related work restrictions require our yards to temporally close. Please note this closure also applies to ALL independent contractors that received prior approval to work in our yards.

During this shutdown period, we know you may want to visit your boat to perform any traditional “spring tinkering” projects. Please adhere to the following precautions:

  • Do not come to our yard if you are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to a person experiencing symptoms,
  • Practice appropriate social distancing,
  • Wear gloves for everyone’s protection, and,
  • If you are using a ladder to get on your boat, tie the ladder securely to a fitting on the deck. This is a precaution taken by all our yard workers. PLEASE use extreme caution while climbing the ladder.

We know it is disappointing, to say the least, to hear your boat’s commissioning may be delayed. Time on the water, out of the house, seems like a necessary therapy. McMichael is making plans to have extra staff available and materials on-hand to commission your boat as quickly as possible once approved to resume working.

We wish you good health as we navigate this challenging time.
